Organized by the Catalina Classic Paddleboard Association, Inc.—a volunteer-run 501(c)(4) nonprofit—the race is revered as the oldest and most prestigious endurance paddleboard event in the world. Paddlers from around the globe come to tackle the grueling 32-mile open-ocean course, which begins at Catalina Island’s Isthmus cove and finishes at the Manhattan Beach Pier. Known as the “Grand-Daddy of all paddleboard races,” the Catalina Classic remains a true test of strength, stamina, and spirit—created by paddlers, for paddlers.
